This is definitely the correct way to use wheel spacers

My new alignment with -2.5° front camber created a lot of space between the front wheels and fenders. This is by far the best google image result when searching how to measure wheel spacers.

What car do you have? I ran -3 on my WRX and it pretty much looked the same. My Abarth came from the factory with -1.5 in the front.

I have a BMW 335xi. I just had my new suspension, including camber plates, put on by my mechanic. When they installed the camber plates they set them to the “no additional camber” mark, which according to my alignment guy actually put the front camber slightly positive even though the car is lowered a good amount in the front. It looked nice and flush like that:

So going from slightly positive to -2.5° tilted the front wheels in a lot, which is why I want spacers now.

I just checked the stock front camber specs and never realized they were so conservative. Yeah, I guess that would make a noticeable difference. I know they put of bunch of negative camber on the rears as my wife burns through tires like crazy. You’d think they’d give the AWD models more aggressive camber in the front since you’re going to be less oversteer happy anyways.

Looks safe to me.

My new coilovers put me at -2.2 or so in the rear and it really does chew tires quick.

Normally with E9x BMWs, lowering them in the front results in about -1.5° camber. I think the “no additional camber” setting on my camber plates doesn’t quite mimic the stock alignment.

I had my alignment guy set the rear to -2 to help clear my fenders. It might need a tiny bit more, I’m getting a slight rub on the driver’s side over big bumps. I’m going to comfort myself that the tires weren’t going to last long anyway being max performance summers.

Rotate tires back to front (if not staggered) with oil changes. that’ll make it a bit better.

The wheels are staggered. My summers are asymmetric, not directional, so I’m planning to rotate by marking which side of the car they were on when I take them off for winter, and put them back on the opposite side in spring.
